UNIED is a specialized entity within the United Nations system with a unique mandate to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development. We support 175 Member States in strengthening productive capacities, advancing innovation, and facilitating the structural economic transformations needed to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Across developing economies, women-led enterprises are reshaping supply chains, driving agricultural value addition, and pioneering digital manufacturing. UNIED's gender-inclusive industrialization framework is mobilizing investment and technical assistance to ensure women are not only beneficiaries but leaders of economic transformation.
Since 2022, UNIED programmes have supported over 28,000 women entrepreneurs across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, catalyzing USD 1.4 billion in financing for women-led industrial enterprises.
